A Scottish Highlands Elopement | Glencoe & An Torr

There’s something incredibly special about being invited into a space that isn’t your own to lead but to quietly witness, learn, and document alongside others.

This beautiful Scottish Highlands elopement was led by the incredibly talented Danielle Stewart Photography, who I had the absolute pleasure of joining for a full day of adventure, storytelling, and connection. I was there to learn, to observe, and to experience what a true Highlands elopement feels like from start to finish and it was nothing short of inspiring.

K & J welcomed us into their day like we’d known each other for years - instantly easy, no awkwardness, just good energy from the start. It was intimate in the best way, just the two of them, their friend, their ridiculously gorgeous GSP Copper, Danielle, and Hazel their celebrant. A tiny group, tucked away in the Highlands, surrounded by towering trees, big open landscapes, and that kind of quiet that makes everything feel a bit more real.

We tucked ourselves away in the trees at An Torr, where they said their vows in a spot that felt completely theirs — no distractions, just them, fully in it… well, mostly. Copper had other plans. Pine cones were being launched, branches were being wrestled, and there was a definite “sorry mum and dad, can you keep it down? I’m playing here” energy throughout. Honestly? Iconic behaviour.

From there, the day turned into one of those “let’s just see where this goes” kind of adventures. Glencoe doing its thing, light changing every five minutes, us stopping constantly because it was all just too good not to.

Nothing rushed, nothing overthought just a day that felt exactly right. The kind where you actually get to be in it, not just ticking boxes and watching the time. I’m so, so grateful to Danielle for bringing me along for this one, getting to watch how she works, how she shows up for her couples, and how much care she pours into a day like this. Properly special to witness. And to K & J - thank you for trusting me, for letting me into something so personal, and for just being fully yourselves the whole way through.

What you’ll see below is exactly how it all felt - a bit wild, a bit emotional, a lot of love, and moments that just happened as they were.

Every elopement is completely unique - if you’re planning something special, I’d love to be part of it.
